RECREATION OF AN OLD GARMENT

This blog is all about Reuse, Recreation and Upcycle of Textiles :-

Reuse,  Repurpose,  Recreation and Recycle. Textile and clothing recycling is beneficial from both an environment and economic aspect. Through the recycling of used garments and textiles, we can avoid water pollution and energy intensive production of new clothing. Additionally clothing that cannot be reused can be recreated and recycled into other products.

So, there are so many clothes which I don't wear anymore. I have decided to recreate my old dress. I have taken my old dress to try something new or to create something new to reuse the garment.

This is the dress which I have decided to recreate for myself. I tried to make 2 recreation from this dress.

Process:- 

• This dress is plain and boring I tried to do something new
• I cut the dress sleeves and bottom part to do experiment with it.

• After cutting this fabric I further divide this cut piece fabric into two parts.

• After this, I added gathers on this cut piece fabric and added the hem line to finish the cut piece fabric.

• And finally I attach this gathers piece to my dress to form a new look of my dress.

This is the final look of my garment and after this I tried to recreate this garment into a top.

Let's she the process of top.

• So, from this recreated dress I also try to  make top for that I cut this dress into pieces .

• After this I further divide this into two parts.

• After this I added gathers to the cut piece fabric.

• And finally I attach this gathers to the upper portion to complete the top or to complete the final look of the garment .

The final outcome is unbelievable and I paired this top with different types of  trousers to complete the look.

I really enjoyed this recreation activity. It made me realize that its not necessary to buy new clothes all the time. You just need to be little creative to find a new look for yourself.
